The World’s Largest Pagan Gathering ‘Burning Man’ Set To Begin In Reno Nevada

by Tricky Dicky.

Burning Man 2016 takes place August 28 – September 5, 2016 in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada.

"And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name." Revelation 14:11 (KJV)
Over 17,000 Burners, as they are called, will be passing through the Reno-Tahoe International Airport over the next several days as the event ramps up to its official Saturday start. A week later, they all fly out after driving two hours back from the desert, dusty, dirty and exhausted.
Airport officials last year tallied Burning Man-bound travelers from 34 countries. “At this time of year, the people-watching is amazing,” said Brian Kulpin, an airport spokesman. “We embrace the Burners.”

The 10 Principles of Burning Man

When we read in the Bible about the building of the Tower of Babel, we see people very busy creating structures which glorify man and cut God out of the picture. It is a type picture of man attempting to reach Heaven by his own righteousness. We all know how it ended. The Burning Man Festival is a frenetic beehive of activity focused squarely on man, as evidenced in their 10 Principles Of Burning Man. Here are just a few of them:
  • Radical Self-reliance: Burning Man encourages the individual to discover, exercise and rely on his or her inner resources.
  • Radical Self-expression: Radical self-expression arises from the unique gifts of the individual. No one other than the individual or a collaborating group can determine its content. It is offered as a gift to others. In this spirit, the giver should respect the rights and liberties of the recipient.
  • Immediacy: Immediate experience is, in many ways, the most important touchstone of value in our culture. We seek to overcome barriers that stand between us and a recognition of our inner selves, the reality of those around us, participation in society, and contact with a natural world exceeding human powers. No idea can substitute for this experience. read the rest of the 10 Principles
Paganism is not the same as Satanism, but it is interesting to note that the motto of the Satanic Temple is "Do What Thou Wilt", as opposed to the Biblical example of Jesus saying to His Father "Thy will be done". Burning Man is a celebration of man outside of God, a celebration of man as a god. That is the very essence and definition of paganism.

And then there is the Burning Man itself

The highlight of the week-long festival is when they set the giant wooden man on fire. As the giant man burns, the tens of thousands of participants cheer as the flames ascend up. The symbolism couldn't be any more obvious. The Bible tells us that the final resting place of unsaved man will be the Lake of Fire, covered in flames and tormented for all eternity.

"And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."Revelation 20:10 (KJV)
Each year the attendance records for the Burning Man Festival break the records of the year before. People can't seem to get enough of free love, no rules, howling at the moon and setting a giant wooden man on fire.
And they've forgotten all about the God that created them.
"The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God." Psalm 9:17 (KJV)

Waiting for the Mother Ship to arrive

Lastly, what has also intrigued me about the Burning Man Festival, is how they arrange the the vehicles and tents in a semi-circle reminiscent of Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. They are definitely making a statement.
